Thursday 2nd June – bike **** – Felixstowe to Levington via Trimley Marshes – sunny and warm.

What a top day for weather especially being the first day of the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations, sunny and warm with no rain:) I was enjoying doing my exercises in the peace and quiet in the back garden with no annoying church bells today while Mag watched Trooping the colour on TV when the air was filled with the rumble of an old plane as the Lancaster enroute to Buckingham Palace flow right over our house, amazing sight but I missed it with my camera, I need not have worried as it did three circles around Felixstowe so the whole town could get a pic:) I then watched the fly past over the palace, great too before heading out on my bike, sadly was not feeling great so stayed at home enjoying the coverage of the celebrations on TV. I biked down to the nature reserve at Trimley Marshes and as soon as I got into the countryside it was lovely and quiet with next to no one about:) I soon spotted a circling buzzard, in the end I saw three, a common sight here in Suffolk now:) There was a nice breeze as I cycled along the River Orwell with loads of yachts out enjoying the sunshine. I stopped to take some pics as a deer ran along the dyke beside me with a Marsh Harrier a bit further on too! On past Loompit Lake now covered in green weed where I saw one dead trout, they do seem to loss a few at this time of year:( A quick spin around Levington Marina before stopping for a snack by the Orwell before heading inland to the tree lines path seeing a lizard on the path who posed for me:) I made a small detour to see the sea at the end of our road before returning home for some yummy scones with cream and jam, delicious they were too:)
They is hopefully a couple of days of breeze coming, fingers crossed it is enough to get the shortboard out!
